PERFORMING WITH BIRMIGHAM ROYAL BALLET

We were over the moon to be contacted this week by Birmingham Royal Ballet to see if we had any men available for their run at Sunderland Empire. Thankfully we have some excellent men up to the challenge! Christian Hogan and Angelo Ivin took to the stage in the classic Swan Lake!

Ballet’s greatest love story returns in Birmingham Royal Ballet’s lavish production. This romantic fable of ill-fated passion, powerfully illuminated by Tchaikovsky’s legendary score played live by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, has bewitched audiences for generations.

we are over the moon to be able to give our company members the opportunity to work professionally in the industry. to get a feel for what  a big commercial production entails, to further our creative reach And enhance our network of opportunities for our actors.

COMPANY TRIP TO 'THE OCEAN AT THE END

OF THE LANE'

We were lucky enough to be

gifted tickets to the fantastic

Ocean at the End of the Lane at the

Sunderland Empire this week.

We feel it is really important for our

development as creatives to view as much

theatre as we possibly can. This

always generates creative conversations

amongst the company that allows us to

reflect on our own work and our own

performances. It is also important to

support other companies within the creative industry! (If you are working in the arts and have any up and coming events please do feel free to contact us; we would love to come along and support if we can!)

“Monster-powered adrenaline spectacular” - Guardian

“Makes you marvel at what theatre can do” - The Stage

"Returning to his childhood home, a man finds himself standing beside the pond of the old Sussex farmhouse where he used to play. He’s transported to his 12th birthday when his friend Lettie claimed it wasn’t a pond, but an ocean… Plunged into a magical world, their survival depends on their ability to reckon with ancient forces that threaten to destroy everything around them.

Adapted from the best-selling Neil Gaiman novel by Joel Horwood and directed by Katy Rudd, this spectacular and thrilling adventure is a tour de force of imagination and storytelling." - AGT

"Our group trip to the Ocean at the End of the Lane was definitely an amazing experience. Being able to watch a high end production from the National Theatre with amazing actors and special effects was fascinating. Also, being able to watch the show with the Atlas family, was an inspiring opportunity to reflect on our performance for our upcoming show and discuss ways that we could improve things" - Simoni Dmtr (Atlas Theatre Company Member)

"It was the kind of show that just made me want to run on stage and be a part of it. The cast were brilliant and the use of the ensemble in telling the story was excellent. The way it was staged and the effects that were being used were unlike anything I've seen and really blew me away. I couldn't recommend it enough" - Sean Barrett (Atlas Theatre Company Member)

CLIVE KNELLER MASTER CLASS

Atlas Theatre Company opened it’s doors this week to the general public as we undertook a fantastic Master Class with Clive Kneller! Clive is a graduate of RADA he has worked in the West End, The Globe Theatre and has worked closely with Sir Mark Rylance. He has experience in film and TV including the likes of Doctor Who and The Curse.

The Master Class focused on how to get the best out of ourselves as a performers. The workshop was full of brilliant thought-provoking activities including a fun ‘status’ exercise, looking at how we can present status as a character but also how different characters on stage might give or take status.

At Atlas we are always excited to work with industry professionals and will be aiming to host another Master Class in May! Stay tuned for more information, These sessions will be posted onto our social media platforms both on Instagram-  atlas_theatre_company and Facebook – Atlas Theatre Company.

"The workshop with Clive Kneller gave me a new perspective on acting. His experience and kindness and the fact it gave me a chance to work with people I’ve never met before, made the Master Class well worth it!"- Lorentz Kirk Lossius
